Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolates.....are not all the same!

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolates.....are not all the same!

This much over due update is about a vastly talented, skilled, artful Pastry Chef / Chocolatier from Pennsylvania; Chef Christopher Curtin of Eclat Chocolate!

If you don't recognize the name of the Chef or his shop do NOT let that sway you away from trying his delectable confections. Once you try, you will be a convert, and never want to leave for another. You will stay true to his creations and with bated breath awaiting to try another, and then another.....you get my point.

Let me explain how I found this master Chef many years ago. In the early 2000's  I attended the Fancy Food Show in Manhattan at the Javit's Center with a colleague. If you've ever been to a trade show this is all about food of course, packaging and even equipment for the culinary fields.

Needless to say, I stopped at his display, and tried the most delicious, velvety liquid caramel chocolate enrobed piece of candy I ever had!  I never before had such a memorable experience in a caramel.

Years had passed and I was drawn to implementing the culinary field and design into a website, highlighting aesthetic gifts, specialty foods, and artful products of integrity at Miller Design. Which brought me back to remembering the unusual name and beautiful presentation all those years ago; with Eclat Chocolate!

Consequently, for the last two Holiday seasons, we have had the honor of carrying some of his fine chocolates.... accompanied with rave reviews!

A little informative bit of bio;  is that when Chef Curtin, began his journey to become a Master Chocolatier it was more than two decades ago; when the process started.

Setting out from Madison, Wisconsin to the House of le Companion du Devoir, the premier guild for Craftsmen in France. It was here where Chris worked alongside some of the best Pastry Chefs in Europe and became the first American to be awarded the honor of German Master Pastry Chef and Chocolatier in Cologne, Germany.

Now in the realm of the world’s top chocolate makers, Christopher continued to work with the masters, honing his skills in the finest chocolate houses of Belgium, Switzerland, France, Germany, and Japan, and sharing in the greatest of secrets and techniques — secrets and techniques that make eating Éclat Chocolate a unique experience you won’t forget.

Christopher continues his journey through Éclat Chocolate, consulting around the world, and traveling to discover new and special cacao varieties, working with chefs and artisans alike.

With this said, we feel privileged as a small business to have the ability to showcase some of his deliciousness here online at Miller Design, and at the Bare Beauty and Wellness Studio in Victor, NY.
