Let me highlight for you the background that is inherent to this series of vases. The vases were designed in 1991 by Sigolène Prébois and Catherine Lévy, the Vase d'Avril is today considered a classic. Indeed, the Musée d'Art Moderne G.Pompidou considered it a marker of its time and included it in its permanent design collection in 1997.
Inspired by the artful flower arrangement of Japanese ikebana, this vase isolates each flower in a tube to show it off to best advantage. Articulated by metal rings, the April Vase has a variable geometry. It adapts to the flowers it shelters and the supports on which it stands. Thus, it gives everyone the great pleasure of composing a successful bouquet.
Made of glass tubes and metal parts that articulate, the Vase d'Avril can be dismantled. As shown in the video, the tubes can be removed and placed in your dishwasher to keep them sparkling clean. Please be aware, only the glass tubes can go into the dishwasher or be in water. The metal fasteners can we wiped down with a soft cloth.
The Classique April Vases are made in France. The "Classic" vase is composed of 21 tubes, including one with the Tsé & Tsé logo. Replacement on the plain tubes are available at time of purchase of the vase. We will also have the Tse & Tse logo tubes available soon.
